Christmas is the most special time of the year!
Anticipation, thoughtful preparation and joyful expectation all play a role in having a better understanding of the Christmas story.
“25 Days of Christmas” offers a unique look at unpacking the Christmas story. Author and Pastor David Dendy took on the challenge of using only one hundred words per day in this twenty-five day devotional adventure in diving into the depths of the biblical Christmas story.
Get ready to be challenged and inspired in this thought provoking daily devotional discipline that will offer the reader an opportunity to prepare fully for the arrival of the newborn King!
It is available in Kindle ($2.99) or Paperback $5.50).
Thank you for your continued support and may you see God in magnificent and meaningful ways in the New Year of our Lord 2016!
Grace and peace,
Laugh often and Fear not!
The Wise Men from the East only ask one question, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews?
King Herod consults with the religious leaders and scribes. These educated scholars know exactly where the newborn king it to be born. Their answer is immediate, “Bethlehem!”
“…and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts…” – The Wise Men upon seeing baby Jesus with his mother Mary.
I am fascinated by the “verbs” found in the Scriptures.
Take a closer look at our passage here from Matthew 2: 11
This strange yet sterling star leads the Wise Men every step of the way.
They are traveling from the East.
Bethlehem would appear first.
And yet, the star bypasses Bethlehem and leads them to Jerusalem to meet the jealous and insecure King Herod first.
I only have one question…
The very presence of Jesus, even as an infant divides the world around Him.
The Wise Men are a force of good.
King Herod brings with him the force of all that is evil.
“For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
The Advent season is about waiting for the arrival of the newborn King – Jesus!
But there is more…
“Where is he who has been born king of the Jews?” – The Wise Men
We have lost the art of “asking” and “seeking.”
