Good Friday

veiled-cross-on-palm-sunday

On the Friday Jesus was crucified, these were His last words on the cross…

1. Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do …

2. To the thief on the cross – Today you will be with me in paradise…

3. “Jesus said to his mother: “Woman, this is your son.”
Then he said to John the disciple: “This is your mother.”

4. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? …

5. I thirst. …

6. It is finished. …

7. Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.

“He loved them to the end…” (John 13: 1)

Maundy Thursday

Maundy-Thursday-3.29.18

Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David

It’s the last Thursday of the month of March 2018.
It’s the last Thursday before Easter 2018.
That can only mean one thing…
It’s Maundy Thursday!

Not Monday Thursday…
It’s Maundy Thursday! The day of Jesus’ “Last Supper” with the disciples.
Maundy comes from the Latin word “mandatum” which means commandment or mandate.

Jesus commanded His disciples and us during the Last Supper to “do this in remembrance of me.”

Palm Sunday

Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David

It is the last Thursday before Holy Week!
That can only mean one thing!!!
This Sunday is Palm Sunday!!

This is the Sunday where Jesus comes riding into Jerusalem on a donkey and “high fives” everyone, by slapping his palm against everyone else’s palm.
Thus… Palm Sunday! (Don’t worry about laughing out loud wherever you are! Our world needs a dose of laughter today!)

Let’s talk about peace!

Unity

United we stand

Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David

Unity

Unity is such an interesting word.

There are many words within the word “Unity”

There’s “U” as in You…
There’s “I” as in Me…
There’s “tiny” as in Unity is NOT a tiny issue…
There’s “nu” as in, Unity might be a “new” concept for “U”.
There’s “tun” as in there’s a “ton” at stake on this matter of Unity.
There’s “nity” as in to achieve Unity we are going to have to get down to the “nitty” gritty.
There’s “ty” as in to begin working toward Unity there has to be something greater, bigger, better, supernatural, spiritual that “ties” us together.
There’s “tin” as in Tin takes a high polish and is used to coat other metals to prevent corrosion. Unity coated relationships shine bright by taking a high polish and are not easily corroded.
There’s “nit” as in Unity will never happen if we are constantly “nit picking” – looking for small or unimportant errors or faults in others, especially in order to criticize unnecessarily.
And last, but certainly not least there’s “nut” as in most people think we are “nuts” to even pray about unity in the world in which we live…

On being connected

Grapes

Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David

On being connected………….

In our modern iPhone, Galaxy, Samsung, Android, Google Pixel, Twitter, Computer Gaming, Facebook, texting and Instagram driven technological world, we as a people have never communicated more than at any other time in the rest of human history combined.

Just walk around the mall, the Outlets, the Casinos, or even down on The Strip. People’s posture is horrendous as we are bent over at some awkward angle with our hand or hands firmly gripped on our smart phones while checking email, the news, gaming, Twitter, Facebook and every other type of social media.

Communication is at an all-time high!!
Connectivity is at an all-time low…
